Human Resources Compliance Specialist, I-9 Program
S Piper Staffing LLC is seeking a Human Resources Compliance Specialist focused on the I-9 Program. This role involves conducting internal reviews and audits of I-9 records, correcting compliance issues, and supporting the migration of I-9s from a legacy platform while working closely with the Human Resources Compliance Team.
Responsibilities
Conduct full-scope discovery of the current state of I-9 compliance
Audit, remediate, and correct employee I-9 records within the Equifax or E-Verify platform
Support the migration of I-9s from a legacy system to a new platform
Pull and analyze data from multiple HR systems using Microsoft Excel
Track remediation efforts, follow up on outstanding items, and ensure timely completion
Generate reports and dashboards from multiple data sources
Provide regular status updates and requested data to HR leaders and managers
Draft clear communications for managers and employees related to compliance efforts
Deliver project updates verbally, in writing, and via PowerPoint presentations
Provide support to HR Business Partners, managers, and the HR Compliance team
Qualification
Required
4–5+ years of hands-on I-9 compliance, completion, and auditing experience
4–5+ years of experience in Human Resources or equivalent professional experience
Strong experience managing confidential employee records, including I-9 documentation
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-LOOKUPS, etc.)
3+ years of experience using Equifax or E-Verify
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of discretion and a strong commitment to confidentiality and compliance
Ability to work independently, manage detailed administrative work, and drive projects forward to completion
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools
4-5+ years of experience creating documentation and training materials using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Teams
Must have professional HR Compliance experience in the Retail (APPAREL) industry
Preferred
Experience and knowledge of Project Management Methodologies
Experience or education in change management is a plus
