Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement Pega applications, translating business requirements into technical specifications and ensuring adherence to best practices and design principles. Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product Managers, Quality Assurance, and other stakeholders to gather and understand project requirements, clarify expectations, and ensure seamless integration of Pega solutions. Assist in or lead the architectural design of scalable Pega applications, including class structures, application frameworks, and data models. Develop and maintain custom integrations with various third-party systems, databases, legacy applications, and web services (REST/SOAP). (40%)
Participate in code reviews, conduct thorough unit testing, and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure high-quality deliverables and compliance with coding standards. Troubleshoot application problems, identify and resolve code errors and bottlenecks, perform system performance tests, and optimize Pega applications for peak performance. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and user manuals for Pega applications. Actively participate in Agile development processes, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. (30%)
Stay current with Pega product updates, enhancements, industry trends, and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact and recommending improvements. Seek new methods within emerging Pega platform features to reduce cost, improve performance, and drive operational efficiencies. (30%)

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application
This position requires a minimum of 8 years of overall work experience
Bachelor's Degree is required
Or Equivalent of 5 years Pega platform experience with Pega LSA or SSA certification
Strong understanding of Pega PRPC (Pega Rules Process Commander) architecture and its features
Proficiency in Pega Platform development (Pega 7.x/8.x and above), including App Studio and Dev Studio
Demonstrated experience with Pega's core capabilities such as case management, workflow automation, business rule management, UI components, data models, and integration capabilities (Connectors, Services, REST/SOAP APIs)
Knowledge of Pega Guardrails and Best Practices for performance, maintainability, and scalability
Ability to debug and troubleshoot Pega applications using tools like Tracer, Clipboard, and Log Analyzer
Solid programming skills, particularly in Java/J2EE and object-oriented concepts
Proficiency with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL
Understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and XML
Familiarity with web services (REST/SOAP) and various integration methodologies
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to effectively interact with technical teams and business stakeholders
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing requirements

Preferred experience includes: Information Technology: 8 years
Master's Degree preferred
Certified Pega System Architect
Pega Certification - CSSA Preferred, or 5 years of Pega experience if no certification
Knowledge of Azure or AWS is preferred for Cloud hosting
