Staff Accountant
Verus Specialty Insurance is a leading Excess and Surplus Lines provider delivering comprehensive solutions across the United States. The Staff Accountant will support the monthly financial close process, prepare journal entries, and assist with financial reporting and account reconciliations.

Responsibilities
Assist with monthly financial close activities, including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules
Prepare and maintain account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Assist with tracking and reporting monthly expenses
Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with documentation for SOX and other regulatory requirements
Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve discrepancies
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
At least 2 years of accounting experience
Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Preferred
Internship or insurance industry experience is a plus
Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft is a plus
