Responsibilities
Develop and implement a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities that cater to the diverse needs and preferences of residents
Assist residents in participating safely and confidently in scheduled activities, providing encouragement and support as needed
Maintain accurate records of attendance, resident participation, and any observations related to residents' responses to activities
Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, and family members to tailor activities that align with individual care plans and health requirements
Prepare and organize materials and spaces required for activities, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
Monitor residents during activities to ensure safety and intervene promptly if any issues arise
Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices and new activity ideas
Qualification
Required
Must be able to work weekends
No license or certifications required
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in a healthcare, senior living, or recreational setting is preferred but not mandatory
Basic knowledge of activity planning and implementation
Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare staff
Physical ability to assist residents and manage activity setups
Preferred
Experience working with elderly or individuals with cognitive or physical impairments
First Aid and CPR certification
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a healthcare environment
