Intern - Financial Analyst

The Intern - Financial Analyst role supports the Plant Controller in monitoring, analyzing, and reporting financial performance, providing hands-on exposure to cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including cost center, manufacturing, and variance analyses, and present findings to management and department leaders
Collect, validate, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency in reporting
Analyze manufacturing variances, standard costs, fixed costs, and balance sheet items, identifying deviations from budget, forecast, or standard and supporting corrective actions
Investigate manufacturing cost issues and support the development of methods, processes, and programs to improve the plant’s financial performance
Support the month-end closing, forecast, and budget processes, including reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of supporting schedules
Assist in the preparation of detailed budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and plant financial targets
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Plant Controller

Required

High School diploma or GED
Sophomore standing college/university courses working towards BS/BA in Finance, Business or related field
3.0 GPA
Ability to work 40 hours per week in the summer and possibly a minimum of 10 hours per week during the school year
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Excellent communication skills
Willing to learn new procedures and applications
Able to work with minimal supervision
