They are seeking an intern for the Wyoming State Engineer's Office to assist with the regulation and administration of water resources, specifically aiding in the inspection of dams and supporting various divisions within the office.

Responsibilities
Aid Safety of Dams Engineers in inspecting dams within the state that have been classified as high or significant hazard potential. Assist with periodic inspections of low hazard potential dams
Aid in preparing correspondence to the owners of the above-mentioned dams detailing deficiencies and recommendations for action or repair
Perform electronic records management of existing and new dams within the state
Aid other WYSEO divisions (surface water, ground water, board of control, interstate streams)
Works a varied schedule that may include overtime. Work will be limited to between Monday and Friday
Qualification
Required
Preference will be given to at least junior level students at the University of Wyoming in good standing
Preference will be given to students with majors in Engineering, Natural Resources, and Geology

Ability to safely walk on uneven surfaces, navigate heights, and to enter confined spaces in order to complete inspections
Encounters with snakes, spiders, mice, etc
Overnight travel is required
Long distance walking and use of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) is required
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
