Entry, Mid LevelSaint John Hospital is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II, also known as a Medical Technologist, who will play a vital role in the diagnostic process and contribute to patient care. The position involves performing laboratory tests, interpreting results, and ensuring compliance with regulations while working collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Responsibilities
Perform laboratory tests on blood, tissues, and other bodily fluids to aid in the diagnosis of diseases and conditions, this may include routine tests as well as specialized tests
Interpret lab test results and identify any abnormalities, ensure the accuracy and reliability of these results to assist doctors in making informed decisions about patient care
Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards in laboratory testing, you may also calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
Keep accurate and detailed records of all laboratory tests performed and their results, input data into our laboratory information systems
Ensure all laboratory operations comply with hospital policies, governmental regulations, and accreditation requirements
Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory
Qualification
Required
ASCP certification or equivalent, or specialized military training in laboratory science required
Bachelor's Degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technician from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)
Current and Valid State License if the laboratory is located in a state where required
Preferred
Two years of hospital laboratory work experience preferred
