Responsibilities

Serve as the technical authority for process control systems across gas transmission facilities
Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and procedures
Provide expert input during design reviews, incident investigations, risk assessments, and process hazard analyses
Act as the escalation point for complex technical challenges and systemic issues
Research and integrate emerging automation technologies to improve reliability and performance
Collaborate with industry groups, vendors, and internal teams to drive best practices

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, or Controls Engineering
Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation or eligibility
Minimum 15 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in natural gas transmission or similar industries
Proficient in industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation)
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CSA, IEEE, API, ISA, ASME)
Excellent communication and technical writing abilities
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendor relationships

Preferred

Experience in oil & gas, particularly gas transmission pipelines
Familiarity with Solar and/or Baker Hughes gas turbines in compression applications
Expertise in instrumentation and fire/gas detection systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards for industrial control systems
Advanced understanding of networked control architectures and remote monitoring
