They are seeking a Tax Software Specialist to ensure the accuracy and reliability of their AI-driven tax platform, involving testing and validating tax data flows and logic across various software platforms.

Responsibilities
Test the platform end-to-end from document upload through AI extraction, validation, tax logic, tax software export, and return generation
Stress test complex tax scenarios including multi-state returns, K-1s, investments, and edge cases
Validate exports and tax logic across professional tax software platforms including Drake, ProConnect, Lacerte, UltraTax, and CCH
Run daily regression tests and full QA test preps
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Support to ensure consistent behavior across tax software mappings, preparer data that is pulled and validated, reviewer gotcha checks, and advisor and assistant AI responses
Document tax logic decisions, QA findings, and edge cases
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, or audit
Strong understanding of federal and state individual tax returns
Experience with one or more professional tax software platforms (Drake, ProConnect, Lacerte, UltraTax, CCH)
Background at a tax, accounting, or auditing firm
Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and operate comfortably in a startup environment
Preferred
Experience with multiple professional tax software platforms
CPA or EA (active, inactive, or in progress)
Bachelor's in Accounting
Interest in AI-driven products and modern tax technology
