Responsibilities
Develop and Execute Business Development/Sales Strategy for the Autonomous Service in North America: Create and implement a comprehensive business development/sales plan to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and maximize profitability. This includes identifying target markets/customers, evaluating new business opportunities, and defining strategies to penetrate those markets
Pursue and Solidify Strategic Partnerships with Key US Airlines and Largest Wheelchair Push Operators: Identify key personnel/decision-makers at targeted partners, pitch/negotiate/close key partnership agreements, and cultivate long term relationships with key stakeholders. Collaborate with internal teams to leverage partner networks, resources, and expertise to achieve mutually beneficial objectives
Drive Revenue Expansion: Identify and evaluate opportunities to increase revenue through new business initiatives, including new site deployments as well as service expansions within existing customer facilities
Conduct Market Surveillance and Analysis: Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to inform business development/sales strategies. Identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive advantages. Use this information to guide service development, market positioning, and pricing strategies
Negotiate and Close Deals: Lead negotiations and close deals with strategic partners. Collaborate with legal and finance teams and senior North American management to ensure favorable terms and risk mitigation. Close deals in a timely and efficient manner
Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments including marketing, product/service development, operations/logistics, finance, and Mobility Sales to align business development/sales initiatives with overall corporate goals. Foster strong relationships and effective communication to ensure cross-functional collaboration and synergy
Monitor and Report on Key Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of business development/sales initiatives. Regularly monitor and report on the progress, outcomes, and financial impact of initiatives to senior leadership in North America and Japan
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
Proven track record of success leading business development, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth
Deep professional network within the aviation industry (particularly with the largest US commercial air carriers and largest 3rd party wheelchair push operators) is a must
Ability to quickly understand and synthesize market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape in new and emerging industry based on advanced, breakthrough technology
Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to think strategically and identify new business opportunities created
Strong leadership skills, ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic, start-up like environment
Entrepreneurial bent with ability to lead business development function independently in a very lean organization with limited administrative support
Must be able to travel by airplane both domestically and internationally without restrictions
Must be able to move, transport, or position, up to 25 pounds without assistance
Must be able to remain in a stationary position, while performing tasks for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours or more, as needed)
Must be able to move or traverse various locations while performing tasks for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours or more, as needed)
Must be able to work in various environments, including office or remote settings with a reliable internet connection, depending on business needs
Must be able to actively participate in virtual meetings is an essential function of this role
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Must be able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities with attention to detail and responsiveness
Ability to work independently while also collaborating in a team environment

MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred
