Accounting Administrator I (Specialist)
State Compensation Insurance Fund is seeking an Insurance Accounting Specialist to join their Financial Reporting team. The role involves performing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks, collaborating with various finance functions, and preparing CDI filings while ensuring compliance with accounting practices.
Responsibilities
Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks including reconciling account balances, preparing relevant reports with tight deadlines
Collaborate with various Finance functions; analyze financial variances, present results to upper management
Resolve accounting discrepancies by investigating root cause of issues including but not limited to following up cross-functionally
Prepare quarterly and annual CDI filings
Document and maintain accounting processes, procedures, memos, and guidelines
Work closely with external and internal auditors, and cross functions to ensure timely deliverable of financial reports
Qualification
Required
Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks including reconciling account balances, preparing relevant reports with tight deadlines

Excellent fact-finding, summarizing and decision making skills to present findings and propose solutions to management; problem solver
Dependable, composed, professional, self-motivated and results driven
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to advanced level), Word, PowerPoint Outlook, Power BI
Experience with Oracle ERP and SQL
Preferred
CPA a plus
Knowledge in insurance accounting
Knowledge in preparing journal entries, T-accounts, financial statements, and reconciliations
