Operations Management Trainee

The Philadelphia Housing Authority is a municipal agency providing public housing services to over 76,000 residents in Philadelphia. The Operations Management Trainee will assist in the management, operation, maintenance, and administration of public housing developments while ensuring compliance with established policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Completes structured rotations through different Public Housing, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) locations to learn the core functions of property management
Completes structured rotations through Operations Maintenance and Compliance divisions to gain exposure to all facets of Housing Operations functions
Completes specific work assignments as assigned and overseen by a Supervisory Property Manager or Property Manager and performs related work as required
Observes and executes all demonstrated responsibilities of day-to-day management, as introduced by assigned supervisor
Provide effective customer service to a diverse portfolio of applicants, residents and other stakeholders
Demonstrates acclimation to PHA’s internal business systems, policies and procedures
Observes and, under supervision from Property Manager or Supervisory Property Manager, completes recertification interviews and leasing of vacant units
Develops and implements community activities designed to enhance and improve community quality of life
Observes experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of departmental duties
Acquires training in functions and operations of related departments to facilitate subsequent transferability between departments and to provide greater promotional opportunities
May be required to attend company-sponsored training classes
Prepare statements, reports and analysis as needed by management
Stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of property management

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Services, Property and Facilities Management or a related field; AND or management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

A strong positive attitude and willingness to learn
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
May require possession of a valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
