The role involves using mechanical inspection tools to ensure product quality and conformity to specifications through various inspection processes.

Responsibilities

Assurance of material criteria establishment
Inspects incoming raw materials and components for conformance verification of traceability to existing inspection plans, customer/VMC drawings, sales and purchase orders
Initiate and manage the MRB (Material Review Board) process
In Process Product Inspection
Inspects the integrity of the product to the order with respect to dimensions, correct components, color, etc
Randomly samples the ‘in process product’ to ensure specifications and dimensional checks
Identifies manufactured products that do not meet quality specifications
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste
Final Product Inspection
Ensures final product meets the specific customer order
Reviews the final sign off on the traveler or work order to release the product to shipping
Collects quality data for accept and reject rates in all areas

Required

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Word
Working knowledge of calibration of gauges and ability to use calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, etc
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and apply knowledge to inspection of products
Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 symbology
Strong attention to detail
Proven verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with an independent work approach
Strong integrity and ethics
Excellent organizational skills with ability to frequently re-prioritize
High School diploma or GED
2-3 years of experience in a mechanical inspection environment

Preferred

Experience with ISO 9000 a plus
