Human Resources and Benefits Manager
Michigan Association of School Boards is seeking a Human Resources and Benefits Manager for Warren Consolidated Schools. This role involves planning, implementing, directing, and maintaining the District’s benefits services while ensuring compliance with human resources practices.

Responsibilities
Administer employee attendance processes, including oversight of time and attendance systems, accruals, and compilation of annual attendance data for the purpose of maintaining accurate data for audit purposes
Administer the District’s 403(b) and 457 retirement plans for the purpose of maintaining compliance with IRS
Administers District employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and serve as the primary liaison between the District and benefit consultants for the purpose of maintaining compliance and up to date information
Contribute to creative problem-solving efforts and recommend or implement process changes for the purpose of effective and efficient work improvements
Ensure the human resources department maintains a strong customer-service focus and responds to employee inquiries in a timely professional manner for the purpose of building relationship and providing accurate data to
Monitor organizational culture and climate and develop strategies and programs for the purpose of promoting employee attraction and retention
Monitor, interpret, and implement district, state, and federal policies for the purpose of maintaining compliance with applicable laws, contracts, and agreements, including ESTA and FMLA
Oversee personnel compliance processes, including ACA tracking and reporting, COBRA administration, workers’ compensation, employee leaves, and unemployment for the purpose of maintaining compliance with applicable laws, contracts, and agreements
Oversee the District Sick Bank for the purpose of tracking contributions, usage, and maintain accurate
Oversee the District’s wellness committee for the purpose of coordinating wellness initiatives and
Oversee the District’s workers’ compensation, including employee medical care, evaluations and management of the relationship with the workers’ compensation administrator and health provider for the purpose of maintaining district and state guidelines
Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of gathering and sharing information necessary to perform assigned duties
Perform benefits outreach, education, and awareness for the purpose of ensuring employees understand available programs and resources
Prepare and process the monthly benefits entry in the District’s accounting system for the purpose of maintaining accurate financial data

Preserve and promote the confidentiality of human resources information for the purpose of ensuring all district, state, and federal confidentiality policies are met
Serve as the District representative in unemployment and other related hearings, as applicable for the purpose of providing information for accurate UIA reporting
Supervise and evaluate assigned staff for the purpose of following District policy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human resources or school administration
At least three years' experience in administering benefits
