Responsibilities
Define and execute the engineering strategy supporting AI model development, training, deployment, and inference at scale
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI features, from experimentation to production and iteration
Build and lead a high-performing organization across software engineering, ML engineering, platform, and infrastructure
Establish a strong engineering culture emphasizing quality, velocity, accountability, and responsible AI practices
Provide technical leadership on distributed systems, data pipelines, model serving, and cloud infrastructure
Guide architectural decisions around LLMs, model training vs. fine-tuning, retrieval systems, and evaluation frameworks
Qualification

Deep experience delivering complex systems
Strong people leadership
Ability to operate at startup speed while laying foundations for long-term scale
Define and execute the engineering strategy supporting AI model development, training, deployment, and inference at scale

Hands-on engineering background with experience in senior engineering leadership (Director, Head of Engineering, CTO or VP)
Experience leading teams building AI/ML-powered products in production
Strong technical foundation in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and data-intensive applications
Proven success scaling engineering organizations in VC-backed or high-growth environments
Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
Experience with LLMs, ML platforms, or AI infrastructure (e.g., model serving, feature stores, evaluation pipelines)
Background in MLOps, data platforms, or large-scale SaaS systems
Experience with modern cloud stacks (AWS/GCP/Azure), containers, and orchestration
Experience customizing, extending, or building systems on top of Claude Code
Building products on top of a Coding Agent
Experience with Agentic AI
Prior experience partnering with founders and presenting to Boards or investors
