Assistant Director of Operations - Residential

Responsibilities

Work as a member of a multidisciplinary leadership team to support overall program quality, operations, and effectiveness
Act as STRTP Administrator, overseeing day-to-day residential operations
Provide direct supervision to program managers, direct care staff, and administrative support staff, as assigned
Lead hiring, onboarding, training, evaluation, professional development, and personnel actions
Cultivate a program culture that prioritizes safety, engagement, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
Ensure appropriate care and supervision of youth in compliance with applicable laws, licensing regulations, and program policies
Oversee required youth programming and activities in accordance with Community Care Licensing (CCL) standards
Support management of program facilities to ensure safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environments
Provide leadership in the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care aligned with Seneca’s values and Unconditional Care principles
Offer direct support and guidance to staff working with youth and families, including during complex or high-acuity situations
Utilize crisis communication, de-escalation, and intervention strategies consistent with Seneca’s Equilibrium model, including physical intervention when required
Build and maintain effective partnerships with county offices, school districts, law enforcement, emergency services, and community providers
Coordinate and facilitate trainings for external partners, as requested
Engage in data-informed program assessment activities to evaluate effectiveness and support continuous improvement

Required

Eligible for STRTP Administrator certification per STRTP Interim Licensing Standards by meeting one of the following qualifications: Have a master's degree in a behavioral science from an accredited college or university, plus two years of employment as a social worker, as defined in California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Section 80001 (s)(4), in an agency serving children or in a residential congregate care program for children
Have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least three years' administrative experience or supervisory experience over social work, direct care and/or support staff providing direct services to children in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of six or more
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy
At least 21 years of age
Prior demonstrated record of providing effective supervision and leadership of diverse program teams
Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage complex tasks in a timely manner
Effective facilitation, coaching, and presentation skills; ability to build collaborative relationships across teams
