Responsibilities

Supporting research and development (R&D) projects for Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, including Variable Frequency Drive and Disconnect Switch units
Creating and updating 3D models of copper and sheet metal assemblies to support manufacturing operations
Developing part and assembly drawings and verifying design accuracy through visual comparisons and fit checks
Supporting prototype builds by preparing JT files and assisting with hands-on build activities
Completing assigned product support tasks related to non-conformances and identified design errors

Required

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Candidates must be enrolled with the North Carolina State University co-op program and cannot graduate prior to December 2026
Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters
Knowledge of 3D modeling tools
Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide housing or relocation support
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred

Experience with 3D modeling or drafting tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX)
Exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles
Familiarity with low-voltage power distribution equipment
Experience supporting prototype builds or manufacturing environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to support a culture of quality
Willingness to learn tools, processes, and engineering methods
