Stansell Electric Company is a leading provider of quality electrical contracting and related services. The Operator II role involves assisting in the installation, alteration, addition, and repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment on various projects.
Information Technology
Responsibilities
Helps in securing, relocating and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment from and back to appropriate storage areas
Keeps work area and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse
Keeps equipment, tools and material clean and organized
Assists in pulling wire, lifting, shoveling, raking, hoisting, and positioning materials
May operate less complicated hand tools and equipment under direct supervision of a foreman or senior operator
Digs trenches by use of hand tools and equipment
Operates directional drill, pressure digger, rock wheel, digger derrick, and crane proficiency
Assists in mounting strapping, placing and burying conduit
Assists more senior personnel in less complicated electrical installations, connections, and terminations under close supervision
Performs other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor
Meets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures
DOES NOT WORK ON ENERGIZED CIRCUITS OR EQUIPMENT
Helps keep equipment maintained daily
Performs all tasks in a timely manner
Understand and follow jobsite directions and instructions, both written and verbal
Comprehends and abides by Stansell Electric customer policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Reports all violations to immediate supervisor
Understand/Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervision
Read and interpret maps and instructional manuals
Keep equipment maintained daily
Bend conduit with hand benders and heaters
Assist in the operation of power threading equipment
Lead daily huddles to ensure crew understands expectations
Apply and ensure the proper use of Injury Free principles
Teach Operator 1 and laborers to operate entry-level equipment when necessary
Make basic field level repairs if needed
Work independently and guide day-to-day work of laborers and Operator 1's
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Enrolled in qualified (ABC or factory) classes
Between 2,000 and 4,000 hours of actual on-the-job experience
At least 750 hours of operating equipment
Ability to operate a Directional Drill, Pressure Digger, Digger Derrick, 30k+ excavator, and entry-level equipment
Understand and operate equipment within the capability, limitations, and functionality of the machine
Know and follow the inspection of routine maintenance of the equipment
Ability to lift 51 pounds, unassisted, 20 times per day
Ability to wear personal protective equipment at all times as required by the specific task
Ability to climb and work from all types of ladders
Possession of good hearing, normal or corrected
Possession of good vision, normal or corrected
Positive identification of wiring colors
Demonstrates the requirements of lifting and rigging for all applicable equipment
Ability to assess site conditions to ensure that equipment is properly set up
