City Utilities -Mechanical Engineering Intern
The City of Fort Wayne is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support its utility infrastructure. This internship offers both office and field experience, working alongside licensed engineers on mechanical systems used in water and wastewater treatment.

Responsibilities
Support planning, design, and field verification activities for mechanical engineering projects
Collect and document data for planning, design, asset tracking, and analysis
Assist engineers with field inspections, surveys, and system evaluations
Help prepare preliminary reports, recommendations, and technical documentation
Complete required City training modules and assist with research as needed
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program; Minimum of two years of college coursework completed
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering data
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfort working with data collection, measurements, and technical documentation
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt as priorities change
Preferred
Interest in environmental engineering, water, or wastewater facilities
Valid Indiana Driver's License
Valid driver's license with a certified driving record if operating a City vehicle
