Nova Southeastern University is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to support their Financial Operations team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate tax compliance and reporting for a large, complex not-for-profit university.

Responsibilities

Manage tax compliance processes, including sales & use tax (FL & PR) and income tax withholding
Prepare and file tax returns and related workpapers (Form 990, 990-T, 1041s, 5500s, etc.)
Reconcile tax liability accounts and support the monthly and year-end close
Maintain and support tax filing software (ProSystem)
Monitor tax law changes and communicate impacts to stakeholders
Assist with policy updates, internal trainings, and process improvements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
4+ years of accounting/tax experience
Strong Excel skills and solid workpaper documentation
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Master's in Accounting and/or CPA
Experience in not-for-profit or fund accounting
Knowledge of non-profit tax rules
Familiarity with Banner Financial Systems
