Distribution Center Safety Supervisor

Responsibilities
Implement Safety Procedure Changes as dictated by Supply Chain Leadership
Ensure proper food handling by understanding SSC-managed procedures, so that this individual can effectively train/retrain DC staff on processes. Proactively identify challenges and work collaboratively with stakeholders for solutions
Ensure all safety/sanitation/security measures are being executed in accordance with RaceTrac and government guidelines, including but not limited to; safety walks and BBS observations, powered equipment usage and inspections, daily vendor temperature logs, product segregation, OSHA documentation, and fire extinguisher compliance
In partnership with the Transportation Manager, ensure drivers are current on all safety and compliance-related documentation
In accordance with RaceTrac safety standards, assist maintaining appropriate documentation including adherence to any publication and training requirements
Speak to daily safety topics and stretches during pre-shift meetings
Serve as on-site point of contact for 3rd party safety auditors
Ensure temperature control system (Digi sensors) are properly working & any variance is investigated
Facilitate new hire training and ensure all employee training is signed off on (both new hire and continuing education)
Partner with DC Management to ensure all planned PM’s are in place for equipment, services (extermination, trash, etc.) are conducted
Ensure Distribution Center is in compliance with all security measures and monitors as appropriate
Ability to provide strategic oversight following initiatives to ultimately produce a lower cost to the organization by means efficient distribution processes and warehouse management
Assist with overseeing all general warehouse support functions; including but not limited to, picking product for the stores, auditing store orders, code dating product, maintaining the facility, and executing all ad hoc requests
Monitor workplace performance and lead initiatives to re-direct or re-train associates
Assist with warehouse audits and inventory reporting as it relates to Purchasing Department and Operations team
Assist with daily inbound/outbound deliveries as it relates to vendor receiving logs documentation as well as warehouse organization and report any issues to Distribution Center Manager
Ensure product integrity by verifying all food temperatures as needed, to include following warehouse FEFO/FIFO processes
Serves as a point of contact for conflict management of associates for all escalated issues
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Access required
Has the ability to lift up to 75 pounds; frequently reach up to 72 inches, and repeatedly bends, stands, and reaches while operating a pallet jack and/or forklift, retrieving items from lower shelf areas, with no or infrequent breaks
Has the ability to work rapidly at a constant pace for the entire shift, in a fast-paced environment
Has the ability to work a flexible schedule including to varying start/finish times, weekends, and holidays
Preferred
Preferred degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or other business related field from an accredited college or university preferred
3+ years related experience preferred
