Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal Commonwealth teams—including Identity and Access Management (IAM), network, security, and compliance—as well as external vendors to ensure Zscaler policies are enforceable, auditable, and aligned with Zero Trust principles
Develop and maintain Zscaler configurations and policies that minimize disruptions to mission-critical operations
Support the rollout of Zscaler solutions by applying best practices for security and operational efficiency
Review and assess security and network access policies, including legacy network requirements, agency-specific needs, and privileged access use cases, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
Implement operational and technical controls across Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX), including role-based access rules, network segmentation, and SSL/TLS traffic inspection
Provide real-time support across multiple business units
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including policy documents, configuration guides, procedures, logs, and issue tracking workflows
Engage and coordinate with stakeholders across the Commonwealth, including networking teams, security personnel, and vendors
Qualification
Required
Strong background in network security, access control, and policy development
In-depth understanding of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) concepts and experience with secure access platforms such as Zscaler
Ability to analyze complex, legacy network environments and translate them into scalable, enforceable policies
Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments, ensuring adherence to security and governance standards
Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills for cross-functional engagement
