Responsibilities
Court Representation : Attend hearings and trials throughout the VA Beach area; Representing clients in civil collection matters
Case Management : Review and update case files, manage litigation calendars, and ensure timely progression of cases through the legal system
Negotiations : Engage in negotiations to resolve pending litigation efficiently, aiming for favorable outcomes for clients
Document Preparation and Signing : Prepare legal documents and pleadings, and execute necessary filings to support case advancement
Compliance and Oversight : Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards, and oversee the management of exceptions and queues within the litigation process
Qualification
Required
A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in VA
Work Authorization: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US without sponsorship, either now or in the future
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
Strong negotiation abilities
Experience in supervising legal processes
Preferred
While one year of civil litigation experience is preferred, the firm offers opportunities for attorneys to gain experience in this area
