Start in 2026 SummerIrwin Seating, a family-owned company founded in 1907, is seeking a CAD Drafting Intern for the summer of 2026. This internship will provide a foundation in design engineering and space planning, allowing interns to support the Seating Layout department and collaborate with experienced professionals to create 2D seating layouts using AutoCAD.

Responsibilities
Develop and modify 2D seating layouts using AutoCAD to support project deadlines
Collaborate with the Layout Manager and Market Based Teams to ensure design accuracy
Manage and organize digital design files within the company network
Ensure all layouts meet specific project requirements and company standards
Participate in team reviews to learn industry-specific layout strategies and best practices
Support various technical design tasks as needed to assist the engineering department
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in CAD/Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, or similar field
Strong basic knowledge of 2D AutoCAD; must have completed multiple AutoCAD-specific courses
Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy while working on complex seating schematics
Comfortable working with standard hardware (multiple screens/laptop) and navigating networked file systems
Ability to take direction from the Layout Manager and communicate effectively with the Market Based Teams
