Responsibilities
Lead the maintenance organization: coach and develop Maintenance Supervisors, set priorities, and ensure strong execution across shifts
Own reliability and uptime: drive preventive/predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements to reduce unscheduled downtime
Build world-class systems: implement and continuously improve TPM, RCM concepts, work order discipline, and planning/scheduling routines
Partner with Engineering and Production: align maintenance planning to production needs; support equipment upgrades and long-term reliability projects
Be the escalation point: support troubleshooting of complex mechanical/electrical issues (PLCs, instrumentation, controls) and help prevent repeat failures
Run performance through metrics: track KPIs like equipment reliability, OEE, PM compliance, contractor/vendor performance, and parts/service spend; communicate results and action plans
Champion safety and compliance: reinforce safe work practices and ensure maintenance work meets all regulatory and site requirements
Ensure continuity: cover leadership gaps when needed and keep critical work moving during off-hours or high-impact events
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proven leadership experience (leading people directly, or leading through supervisors/leads; training/coaching/mentoring)
Strong working knowledge of maintenance management systems, work order processes, PM/PdM, and TPM
Advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting capability (e.g., PLCs, instrumentation, controls, mechanical systems) and comfort planning resources in a large manufacturing environment
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SAP (PM module) strongly preferred
Flexibility to support extended hours/weekends when required by the operation
Preferred
Strong presentation skills and comfort leading cross-functional meetings
A track record of implementing sustainable reliability programs (not just 'putting out fires')
Experience in food/packaged goods manufacturing environments
