Small Company Controller
Robert Half is seeking an experienced accounting professional to support day-to-day financial operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and performing reconciliations, while managing full-cycle bookkeeping and collaborating with internal teams in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle bookkeeping and maintain detailed financial records
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Maintain and reconcile accounting software files (QuickBooks)
Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial data
Maintain and organize the chart of accounts
Issue invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports
Assist with tax preparation and coordinate with external tax professionals
Communicate with vendors and clients to obtain documentation and resolve discrepancies
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support financial accuracy and efficiency
Identify issues, recommend process improvements, and support best practices in financial operations
Qualification
Required
5–8 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (certification preferred)
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
