Responsibilities
Define test architecture, automation strategy, and quality engineering framework aligned with business objectives and project requirements
Establish standards, best practices, and guidelines for automation, performance, and non-functional testing
Evaluate tools, frameworks, and technologies to ensure scalable and maintainable test solutions
Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and Technical Leads to understand system design, integrations, and dependencies
Ensure test strategies are aligned with application architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Act as a technical mentor and thought leader for automation and QA teams
Review and guide offshore test design, automation frameworks, and implementation outputs
Ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to defined standards across distributed teams
Support skill development and continuous improvement within offshore QA teams
Lead defect triage discussions with cross-functional stakeholders
Support root cause analysis and provide architectural recommendations to prevent defect recurrence
Drive continuous improvement by identifying systemic quality issues
Communicate test status, quality metrics, risks, and coverage to customer and internal stakeholders
Provide architectural recommendations and risk assessments related to quality and testing
Support release readiness decisions through data-driven insights
Qualification
Required
Strong experience in test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, REST Assured, etc.)
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar)
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab)
Solid understanding of API, UI, performance, and security testing
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture
Proven experience in a Test Architect or Automation Architect role
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to influence without authority and work in complex, matrixed environments
Experience working with global and offshore teams
Preferred
Experience with DevOps, DevSecOps, and shift-left testing strategies
Knowledge of test data management and environment virtualization
Certifications such as ISTQB Advanced/Expert, SAFe, or Cloud certifications
