Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and optimize high-performance motion control algorithms, focusing on precision position and torque control loops for robotic arms/manipulators
Establish and maintain robust testing and simulation frameworks to ensure controller stability and system reliability across diverse operational conditions
Design and execute automated validation routines to stress-test control systems and verify adherence to safety protocols
Analyze system telemetry and sensor feedback to diagnose performance bottlenecks, stability issues, or control loop anomalies in real time
Develop and document standardized processes for controller evaluation, system identification, and performance benchmarking
Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and test teams to troubleshoot hardware-software integration issues and drive iterative control system improvements

Required

4-5 years of post-graduate industry experience
Proven experience designing and tuning position and torque control systems for robotic arms, manipulators, or complex mechatronic hardware
Ability to perform system identification and dynamic modeling of physical systems to inform controller design
Strong programming skills in Python or C++ for developing control algorithms, automation frameworks, and data analysis tools
Hands-on experience with real-time control systems and motion planning architectures
Experience designing automated validation or hardware-in-the-loop test routines for control systems
Strong understanding of empirical tuning, stability margins, and frequency-domain analysis for diagnosing control instabilities

Preferred

Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field with a focus on Controls
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for rapid prototyping and simulation of control algorithms
Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 10218, ISO 13849) for industrial or collaborative robots
Prior experience in robotics startups or organizations
