Electrical Assembler

TAI is a full-service engineering and construction firm that is seeking an Electrical Assembler to play a vital role in the creation of industrial control panels. The position involves translating wiring schematics into functional units, performing quality control, system testing, and preparing panels for shipment.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Assembler, your responsibilities include the assembly of electrical components into a control panel for industrial processes
You are responsible for the assembly of complex wiring layouts on electric units, the setup of testing systems, and preparation of panels for shipment
Other duties include quality control, shipping/receiving, and assisting with procurement
Apply knowledge of electrical principles to read and interpret complex wiring schematics
Completes the control panel build using prints, drawings, point to point wire lists, and customer specifications with assistance
Perform complex wiring and assembly operations on assemblies and sub-assemblies
Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and other electrical components
Record changes on engineering documentation
May work under the guidance of engineering on customer projects
Create documentation related to panel wiring and layout
Performs wire pull tests as needed
Completes point to point, for continuity using a multimeter
Complete all necessary documentation to meet quality and production requirements
Support shipping and receiving of products
Use power tools in a safe manner
Adheres to all production procedures to include health and safety regulations
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Communicate and collaborate with team to support panel shop goals and initiatives
Performs other work-related duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent
A minimum of 2 years of experience working in electrical wiring or installation field
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics
Prior experience assembling electrical components into electrical control boxes, enclosures, and large control panels for industrial machinery
Ability to correctly, effectively, and safely use basic hand tools and power tools
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Display attention to detail and basic problem solving skills
Must be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks
The person in this position needs to frequently move about the shop to access equipment and complete tasks
Occasionally lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs in a safe manner
Ability to move around the shop which includes walking, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders

Preferred

Certification or degree related to working with electrical systems is a plus
CAD drafting experience is a plus, but not required
