ID3- CAD Detailer
Exploring Graphics, a division of Exploring, Inc., is seeking an experienced CAD Detailer who understands that drawings are not just concepts—they are instructions for fabrication. This role involves producing fully detailed, accurate, and complete shop drawings for various fabrication teams, ensuring clarity and precision in the drafting process.

Responsibilities
Create complete, build-ready CAD drawings for custom fabrication projects
Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections, and isometric views as required
Ensure drawings clearly communicate: Dimensions, tolerances, and materials; Assembly methods and fastening details; Finish specifications and scenic treatments; Hardware, structural requirements, and load considerations
Produce coordinated drawing sets for Carpentry, Scenic, and Metal departments
Draft with a clear understanding of how things are actually built, not just how they appear
Apply working knowledge of: Wood construction and joinery; Scenic fabrication techniques; Metal fabrication and welding methods
Identify and resolve fabrication challenges during the drafting phase
Work closely with Project Managers, Shop Foremen, and Fabrication Leads
Participate in design reviews and internal handoffs
Revise drawings based on feedback, site conditions, or fabrication needs
Support production teams by answering drawing-related questions
Take ownership of drawing accuracy, clarity, and completeness
Ensure drawings meet ID3 standards and project requirements prior to release
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience as a CAD Detailer or Draftsperson in custom fabrication, scenic, exhibit, or architectural environments
Proficiency in AutoCAD (Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar software a plus)
Strong understanding of Carpentry, Scenic, and Metal fabrication methods
Ability to translate conceptual designs into detailed, executable shop drawings
High level of attention to detail and accountability
Preferred
Hands-on fabrication or shop experience
Experience in experiential marketing, live events, exhibits, or custom environments
Familiarity with production workflows and fabrication schedules
