Responsibilities

Research, conceptualize, and develop AI solutions for hard industrial problems
Lead projects and collaborate with teams of peer researchers on new and continuing projects
Guide development of new technologies and early prototypes to realize AI value - Mentor early-career researchers and support their technical growth
Implement efficient, scalable, and reusable solutions using modern software tools - Create intellectual property through invention disclosures and patents
Publish research in peer-reviewed conferences and journals
Write grant proposals and support R&D; program execution

Qualification

AI-focused experiencePython developmentLead AI research projectsGenerative AI frameworksMultimodal foundation modelsStakeholder engagementCollaboration across programsPublications contributionsCommunication skills

Required

PhD with 5+ years of AI-focused experience OR MS with 8+ years of AI-focused experience
Strong Python development skills with hands-on AI solution delivery
Demonstrated ability to lead AI research projects
Experience with generative AI models and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available)
Willingness to work onsite in Albany, NY metro area

Preferred

PhD focused on advancements in Artificial Intelligence
Experience with multimodal foundation models
Integration of generative AI with knowledge graphs or physics-based models
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience collaborating across research and grant-funded programs
Publications or open-source contributions
