Accountant

Nasim Landscape is a growing landscape management company seeking a full-time Accountant. In this on-site role, you will oversee financial operations including payroll, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure sound financial health and compliance.

Responsibilities

Utilize HCM software to process and manage the company’s payroll on a regular schedule, ensuring all employee pay, taxes, and withholdings are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations
Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts, providing analysis on budget-to-actual performance and recommending adjustments as needed
Maintain the general ledger and oversee month-end close procedures. Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Manage billing, invoicing, and vendor payments. Perform accurate and timely accounts payable and receivable transactions to maintain healthy cash flow
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow. Review and reconcile credit card statements, loans, and other accounts to ensure financial records are up-to-date
Analyze financial data (e.g. job costing, expenses, revenue trends) and provide actionable insights or reports to leadership to guide decision-making
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations (including payroll taxes, sales/use tax, etc.). Coordinate with external accountants or auditors during tax preparation and audits, providing documentation and support as needed
Use QuickBooks Online for all accounting entries and reporting. Leverage the Aspire landscape management software to integrate operational data (e.g. job costs, timekeeping) with accounting records for accurate project financial tracking. Standardize and improve accounting workflows to drive efficiency and accuracy in financial processes

Required

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Accounting Experience: Proven experience in general accounting or bookkeeping. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles, with ability to prepare financial statements and reports
QuickBooks Proficiency: Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online for daily accounting operations and reporting (experience with other accounting software is a plus)
Financial Skills: Solid knowledge of payroll processes, budgeting, and financial forecasting techniques. Adept at financial analysis and comfortable handling general ledger, A/P, A/R, and bank reconciliations
Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. spreadsheets, PivotTables) and other office software. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and detail-oriented in ensuring accuracy
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly explain financial information and work collaboratively with team members and management
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills with the capacity to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. A high level of integrity and attention to detail is essential for maintaining accurate records and confidentiality

Preferred

CPA Certification: Certified Public Accountant credential (active or in progress) – preferred, but not required, indicating a higher level of accounting expertise
Aspire Software Familiarity: Experience with Aspire landscape business management software or similar industry-specific software – a plus, as it streamlines landscaping operations and accounting integration
Industry Experience: Prior experience in the landscape management or construction industry – preferred. Understanding of industry-specific accounting (e.g. job costing for projects, contract billing) will help in hitting the ground running
Advanced Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills or experience with data analytics/reporting tools – a plus. Familiarity with integrating accounting systems with operational platforms is beneficial
Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and adapt to a fast-paced small business setting. A proactive attitude towards process improvement and efficiency is highly valued
