Aviation Maintenance Technician, Night Shift
Viasat is a global company on a mission to deliver connections that change the world. They are seeking an Aviation Maintenance Technician to support customers at various airports by performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of the Viasat Broadband System onboard customer aircraft.

Responsibilities
Work collectively with Viasat’s Customer Support Center (CSC) and Airline Planning
Ensure that all the required maintenance and preventative maintenance is being performed in accordance with all company, airline and FAA regulations
Work will be assigned primarily at San Francisco Airport but occasionally at various airports including LAX, DEN, SFO, EWR, IAH, ORD and other locations, often at the last minute requiring urgent travel
Assist in diagnostics checks on Viasat system installed onboard customer aircraft
Provide training of the Viasat system to maintenance vendors and airline personnel
Ensures all tooling and equipment required to maintain the Viasat system is available and up to date
Assist Line Maintenance Supervisor in the development of improved maintenance and preventative maintenance of the Viasat system
Mentors others to ensure they achieve a thorough working knowledge of Viasat systems
Provide feedback to vendors and airline partners regarding Viasat systems and provide solutions needed for areas for Continuous Improvement
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and may be sent on field maintenance calls
Qualification
Required
Proven experience assisting customers with the planning and executing of aircraft line maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs
Demonstrated experience with documenting maintenance work with an emphasis on accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical material to a variety of audiences
Strong track record of meeting deadlines and exceeding customer expectations
Fluent in English, both verbal and written
This is an FAA safety sensitive position. Participation in our Drug-Alcohol program is required
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and occasionally internationally at the last minute
Must live in local distance to San Francisco International Airport
Flexibility to work without a set shift pattern on any day of the week or year including weekends and holidays
Ability to pass background checks and obtain multiple airport badges
Ability to pass credit checks to obtain corporate travel card
Primary shift 7:00 PM - 3:00 AM; requires flexibility for varying evening and overnight hours
Preferred
General FAA regulations knowledge and logbook management
Associated degree in related field preferred
