Responsibilities
Lead efforts to develop HAWC to produce a new generation of veterinarians, human health and mental health practitioners, and researchers who can collaborate effectively and develop curricula and joint training for veterinary and human health care students
Promote and conduct research, teaching and outreach in health issues related to human animal interaction, psychological, emotional, physical benefits and mutual benefits for humans and animals and the efficacy of shared health care delivery and other therapeutic or recreational interventions
Build on the success of the Seattle One Health Clinic (a joint WSU-UW project)
Qualification
Required
An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in psychology, behavior, neurology, or a related field is required
Must have an established extramurally funded research program with a record of peer-reviewed publications and national/international reputation commensurate with rank of associate or professor
WSU seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education
For the Full Professor level, candidates must have a demonstrated record of leadership in research, teaching or service to their university or field
All candidates must have a history of contributing to high quality undergraduate, graduate or professional education and excellent communication skills
