Continuing Education Advertising and Marketing Instructor - Youth Online
Rhode Island School of Design is seeking an inspired art educator to support the growth of teens in their online youth program. The ideal candidate will teach courses in advertising and marketing, guiding students through art and design while promoting their academic and career goals.
Education
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, teach, and provide feedback to promote and direct student learning
Lead teens toward aspiring career paths while problem-solving through art and design
Teach Start Advertising and Marketing through online delivery
Create a visual identity for a brand or product
Design mockups of products or brand merchandise
Develop a marketing campaign making use of accessible media such as emails and social media
Qualification
Required
BS, BFA or Art/Design Major required
Demonstrated expertise in marketing and advertising
Ability to convey complex art and design concepts to students with varied skills (novice to advanced) in a condensed time frame
Accept and act upon constructive feedback from course evaluations by students and staff
Ability to develop and implement diverse teaching and learning for learners from a variety of educational backgrounds, environments and expectations
Ability to meet RISD's technology requirements
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred
Experience teaching K-12 in art and design
Experience teaching online
Expressed interest in career planning and preparation for teens
Masters degree
Teaching certification/certificate
Knowledge and understanding of early-mid childhood learner principles and respect for students
