Performance Nutrition Program Dir Football
The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Performance Nutrition Program Director for Football. This role is responsible for providing nutritional counseling and education services to football student-athletes, working closely with coaches and food service contractors to ensure nutritionally sound meals and support athletic performance.

Responsibilities
Present lectures, seminars and workshops on sports nutrition to student-athletes and coaches, including pre-season nutrition overviews
Provide individual nutritional counseling to student-athletes
Provide assistance to food service contractor in planning menus for the training table
Provide assistance in planning pre- and post-competition meals, both at home and on the road
Identify athletes with eating disorders and work with physicians and counselors in treatment
Develop nutrition education/intervention and sports nutrition programs
Establish nutritional assessment and treatment policies and procedures
Establish nutritional supplement use policies and procedures, including investigation of potential supplements
Determine budgetary needs for KAI nutritional programs
Help develop and oversee educational programs for nutrition and supplements
Develop materials on nutrition and weight control
Research and analyze scientific and lay reports related to nutrition and athletic performance, including nutritional supplements and diets, translating the findings into sound advice for coaches, trainers, and student athletes
Supervise Sports Dietician, Assistant Nutritionist and Sports Nutrition Interns
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Head Team Physician and Senior Administrator - Adhere to Health System, University, Big 12 Conference, Kansas Athletics, and NCAA policies and procedures
Maintain knowledge of Health System, departmental activities, sports schedules, and procedures
Foster cooperative working relationships with immediate supervisor and staff members who work within or outside his/her work unit
Maintain a positive attitude toward performing job duties and in working with other staff members
Exhibit professional decorum always
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in Nutrition
High School Graduate
4 or more years experience working with nutritional needs of athletes
Registered Dietitian (RD) - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
Licensed Dietitian - Health Occupations Credentialing - Kansas (KDADS)
Strong background in sports nutrition and exercise physiology
Preferred
Master's Degree Sports Nutrition
1 or more years experience with athletes in a team environment
