Grant Accountant (Accountant 2)
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is dedicated to caring for Oregon’s landscapes and cultural history. The Grant Accountant will ensure grants and funding agreements are accurately evaluated, funded, and monitored, while providing consultation and customer service to department programs.

Responsibilities
Ensure grants and funding agreements are evaluated, funded, completed, accounted for, and monitored in an accurate and effective manner
Serve as a consultant to assigned department programs and provide customer service
Ensure financial information for department grants is properly recorded in the Statewide Financial Management Application (SFMA)
Report and bill grants/projects and ensure overall accounting in accordance with specific grantor requirements, federal and state laws, rules and regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other applicable statutes, regulations and policies
Qualification
Required
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate AND two years of accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 1 work to include setting-up ledgers, account codes and controls, and modifying accounting systems
OR A Bachelor's degree in accounting, or in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND two years of accounting experience equivalent to Accountant 1 work to include setting-up ledgers, account codes and controls, and modifying accounting systems
OR 32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours from an accredited institution in Accounting AND four years of related accounting experience to include a) classifying, analyzing, and reconciling financial data and records; b) designing, recommending, and installing modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records; c) preparing financial statements and reports; d) analyzing and interpreting laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances to ensure the legality of financial transactions; and e) analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations related to accounting transactions, accounts, and account relationships resulting in accounting entries
To be hired, a criminal record and driving record check must be completed that meets OPRD Criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment while also maintaining a valid driver's license

Ability to research, analyze, and reconcile complex data sets using digital tools (e.g., MS Excel and Power Query)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional grammar and spelling, and the ability to present to large, diverse audiences
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Experience as Grant Accountant or Analyst for a large-scale entity working with grant accounting and compliance
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Power Query
