The Senior Snowflake AI Administrator will lead the administration, security, and optimization of the client’s Snowflake platform, focusing on governance and operational foundations for production-grade AI.

Responsibilities
Design and enforce RBAC, data access policies, masking, row access policies
Monitor performance, usage, and cost across AI/ML workloads
Manage Snowflake upgrades, feature enablement, and account-level configurations
Configure, manage, and govern Snowflake Cortex services, including: Cortex LLM functions and embeddings, and text summarization, classification, and search
Support GenAI applications built directly on Snowflake
Enable teams to use Cortex securely and at scale without data exfiltration
Collaborate with data scientists and app teams to operationalize AI use cases
Implement AI governance controls for model usage, prompts, and outputs
Enforce data residency, compliance, and privacy controls
Audit Cortex usage and AI workloads for compliance and cost
Determine guardrails for prompt usage, model selection, and data exposure
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake administration, including: databases, schemas, warehouses, roles, grants, RBAC design, resource monitors and cost controls
Experience managing Snowflake in production at enterprise scale
Ability to troubleshoot query performance, warehouse sizing, and concurrency issues
Deep understanding of Snowflake security controls, including: Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), Secure Views, Row Access Policies, Masking Policies (especially for PII/PHI), and tag-based classification
Experience supporting regulated data environments (HIPAA, GDPR, internal data handling standards)
Familiarity with Snowflake Access History / Query History for audit and investigations
Ability to design non-bypassable controls for AI and analytics access
Working knowledge of Snowflake AI capabilities, such as: Snowflake Cortex (LLM functions, embeddings, inference), and ML functions and model lifecycle concepts
Understanding of how AI workloads access data in Snowflake and the risk implications (exfiltration, over-broad access)
Ability to enforce safe AI access patterns, such as: AI access via secure views instead of base tables, and restricted schemas/databases for AI workloads
Experience integrating Snowflake with enterprise identity providers: SSO (OAuth / SAML), service accounts (key-pair or OAuth-based auth)
Ability to manage service roles for applications, MCP servers, or agents querying Snowflake
Understanding of least-privilege role design for automated systems
Experience with: change management and promotion across environments (dev/test/prod), incident response related to data access or misuse, and cost monitoring and usage optimization
Strong documentation and runbook creation skills
