Responsibilities
Lead the global VMware‑to‑Nutanix migration program across multiple regions and business units
Develop and manage the overall program plan, milestones, migration waves, and timelines
Drive project governance, status reporting, RAID logs, and steering committee updates
Ensure alignment between infrastructure, application teams, security, network, storage, and business stakeholders
Coordinate with internal teams (Infrastructure, Network, Storage, Backup, Security, Application Owners)
Manage relationships with global vendors and partners (Nutanix, VMware, System Integrators, and local data center teams)
Ensure vendors deliver according to contractual commitments, SLAs, and project timelines
Facilitate technical working sessions between engineering teams and external partners
Understand VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA/DRS, vMotion, and VM dependencies
Understand Nutanix AHV concepts (clusters, Prism, storage containers, replication, migration tooling)
Be familiar with data center networking, L2/L3 migration, VLAN mapping, and security policies
Understand storage migration considerations—performance, snapshots, replication, cutover windows
Collaborate on migration runbooks, sequencing, application dependency mapping, and testing
Lead discovery, assessment, and dependency analysis for VMware-to-Nutanix migration
Create and own migration wave plans, cutover schedules, backout plans, and stakeholder communication
Track environment readiness: hardware delivery, cluster build, network configuration, security approval, DR planning
Coordinate dry runs, failover testing, app owner validation, and final production cutovers
Ensure minimal downtime and optimal scheduling across global time zones
Maintain RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Decisions)
Drive mitigation plans, escalation paths, and stakeholder alignment
Track budget, vendor statements of work, invoicing, and financial approvals
Ensure compliance with IT security, audit, and architectural standards
Lead regular program reviews with leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders
Provide clear and consistent communication across all levels of the organization
Prepare executive-level status reporting, dashboards, and decision summaries
Manage expectations, dependencies, change requests, and prioritization across global teams
Qualification
Required
15+ years of experience
8–12+ years of IT project management experience in large enterprise environments
Proven experience leading complex global infrastructure migrations (VMware, data center, cloud, or hyperconverged infrastructure)
Strong experience managing multi-vendor, multi-region projects
Strong understanding of VMware stack (vCenter, ESXi, vSphere, clusters, vMotion)
Strong understanding of Nutanix AHV, Prism, hardware platforms, networking considerations
Strong understanding of server, storage, and network architecture
Strong understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity concepts
Strong understanding of application dependency mapping and migration sequencing
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencer skills
Ability to manage conflict and drive clarity across diverse teams
Strong leadership, ownership, and decision-making capabilities
Experience working across global time zones
Preferred
PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification
Nutanix Enterprise Cloud certification (basic understanding acceptable)
Experience in hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) migrations
Experience with large-scale data center transformation programs
