Responsibilities
Design Pages: Create visually compelling pages for MediaNews Group newspapers using InDesign
Collaborate with Editors: Work closely with editors at various NorCal publications to ensure content is presented clearly and effectively
Proofread: Review pages for spelling, grammar, and other errors to ensure high-quality output
Layout and Composition: Implement strong layout and composition techniques to enhance the reader's experience, especially in sports sections
Enhance Visual Storytelling: Utilize graphics, photos, and other design elements to improve storytelling on sports pages
Adapt and Innovate: Stay updated with design trends and bring innovative ideas to the table
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the design team
Qualification
Required
A firm grasp of the English language & good spelling
Good knowledge of computers and basic programs such as G-Mail and Google Chat
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
Working nights, weekends and holidays will be a requirement
Preferred
InDesign skills are a huge plus but not mandatory
