Responsibilities

Supporting mechanical design and 3D modeling projects, including drawing updates and design revisions
Assisting with troubleshooting production support issues and implementing design improvements
Supporting requests for special tools and fixtures to improve production and assembly processes
Creating and updating engineering drawings and documentation for new and existing products
Collaborating with engineering and production teams to support prototype builds and hands-on development activities

Required

Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Candidates must be enrolled with the North Carolina State University co-op program and cannot graduate prior to December 2026
Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters
Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide housing or relocation support
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred

Experience with 3D modeling or drafting tools (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD)
Hands-on mechanical experience through coursework, labs, or projects
Exposure to production or manufacturing environments
Familiarity with engineering systems (SAP, Teamcenter, or similar)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
Willingness to learn tools, systems, and engineering processes
