Patient Benefits Specialist-Ashland

The Patient Benefits Specialist will work directly with patients to explain insurance coverage, assist with program enrollment, and guide them through the revenue cycle process.

Responsibilities
Conduct benefit orientation and explain financial requirements
Perform financial assessment interviews and screen for coverage/eligibility
Verify third-party and other healthcare coverage
Assist with program enrollment based on assessment results
Enter and maintain accurate benefit information in EHR
Support patients with Medicaid applications and redetermination
Guide patients through the revenue cycle process and support services
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse patient populations
Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential
Preferred
Prior experience with All Kids and Moms & Babies (MPE) programs
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace insurance, and HMO regulations
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR), especially EPIC
Bilingual in English and Spanish
