Responsibilities
Prepare annual audited financial statements and tax schedules
Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements
Assist with the preparation of quarterly investor capital account statements
Review the underlying investment holdings, including cost, valuations, capital calls, distributions, unrealized gains/losses, etc
Review fund level expenses and income
Respond to investor inquiries
Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as needed
Assisting in compliance to ensure that the finance function of the firm is in compliance with all SEC and FINRA rules and regulations
Maintaining legal abstracts and investment closing sets
Assist in the collection of portfolio company financial information and analysis
Managing co-investment opportunities
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics
5-8 years of relevant experience – experience in venture capital, private equity, or other investment management industry preferred. Work in an SEC-registered RIA firm or a FINRA-registered broker-dealer is a plus
Public accounting experience and CPA preferred but not required
A basic understanding of limited partnership/limited liability company structures and fund accounting is a plus
Must be able to provide an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to enhance finance operations. This is a small office, so this person must be comfortable and excited to wear many different hats and work on multiple projects simultaneously
Independent and flexible problem solver with the ability to adjust effectively to change
Cross-functional project management and multi-tasking is essential
Must be detail-oriented with strong organization skills
Excellent analytical and communication skills
