Environment, Health and Safety Manager
Specialty Herd Solutions is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead environmental compliance and workplace safety initiatives at their Plymouth, WI facility. This role focuses on EPA and DOT compliance while overseeing OSHA-aligned safety programs and fostering a strong culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities
Act as the site subject‑matter expert for EPA regulations, including CAA, CWA, RCRA, TSCA, and EPCRA
Manage environmental reporting and compliance activities (Tier II, TRI/Form R, GHG, NPDES, SPCC, hazardous waste manifests)
Oversee hazardous waste management in accordance with RCRA
Lead spill prevention and emergency response planning
Interface directly with EPA, state agencies, and local regulators
Monitor regulatory changes and drive proactive compliance improvements
Implement and manage OSHA‑compliant safety programs and policies
Ensure DOT regulatory compliance, including oversight associated with DOT‑regulated drivers
Conduct JHAs, PPE assessments, and industrial hygiene evaluations
Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions
Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and compliance documentation
Develop and facilitate training on hazardous materials, emergency response, and safety procedures
Maintain SDS and chemical labeling systems
Identify and mitigate chemical, physical, and biological risks
Champion a strong, proactive safety culture across the facility
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Chemistry, or related field
3–5 years of EHS experience, ideally in manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or hazardous materials environments
OSHA HAZWOPER
Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations
Confident communicator and effective trainer
Proven ability to lead emergency response and investigations
Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable leading change
Experience with EHS management systems and reporting tools
Preferred
CSP, NEBOSH, or equivalent
