Account Manager- Inside Sales
Horizon Steel is an industry leader in steel processing throughout North America, seeking a dynamic Account Manager to join their Wheeling, IL team. The role involves handling RFQs, strategizing with management, prospecting for new business, and ensuring compliance with quality procedures.
Responsibilities
Handle and quote RFQ’s. Verbally discuss and gather all information from the customer
Review feasibility and sourcing. (Stock, mill, spot)
Knowledge of automotive and steel industry’s specifications required
Workup quote using formulated excel sheet for sell price. Save quote sheet in customer file
Enter RFQ opportunities in Salesforce
Strategize with management and outside sales on long term program opportunities
Review current program inventories with purchasing for shortages
Review updated releases for new drop- ins not supported by mill buys
Prospect/ Cold call- travel on occasion
Assist CSR’s, Production scheduling and traffic coordinators as needed
Review processing setups and customer deviation requests
Review account margins for comparison to quoted margin
Strong working knowledge of the steel industry
Understand Quality procedures for compliance
Qualification
Required
Minimum three plus years of steel sales quoting automotive specifications and other industries specifications
Must be a self-starter willing to prospect for new business and have the proven ability to grow existing accounts
Microsoft Office and ERP experience
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Excellent communication, organizational and written skills
Positive attitude
Can work independently – limited direct supervision
