EV Charging Interoperability Validation / Test Engineer

They are seeking an EV Charging Interoperability Validation / Test Engineer to ensure compatibility and functionality of charging systems and standards, while also conducting end-to-end testing and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

Ensure that backend systems and charge points are compatible and functioning correctly with these Open Charge Point Protocol versions
Validate the interoperability of vehicles and charging infrastructure with these standards, focusing on Autocharge and Plug and Charge functionalities
Work with charge point operators (CPOs) to test the complete system, including vehicles, chargers, payment providers, credit card terminals, and backend systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality
Track and analyze data collected from chargers in the field to identify and address performance issues, especially during the initial product launch phases
Use techniques like data mining, system log analysis, and performance testing to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with chargers
Conduct tests to replicate and isolate issues, then develop solutions to address them
Work effectively with various teams to resolve complex issues, leveraging a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving

Required

Experience with Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) versions, specifically 1.6 (required) and 2.0.1 (preferred)
Experience with both DIN70121 and ISO15118, and knowledge of NACS / J3400, is advantageous
Familiarity with SAE, ISO, and IEC standards related to DC fast charging, including SAE J1772, IEC 61851, and UL2202
Understanding of networking protocols such as PLC, TCP/IP, and other relevant standards
Understanding of machine states, Wireshark for network analysis, and basic CAN communication
Familiarity with EV diagnostic tools such as Vector, Keysight, and Iotecha
Basic familiarity with software development practices can be beneficial
Relevant Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience in EV charging industry
Minimum of 1 year of DC Fast Charging or solution sales with a proven track record of success
Strong analytical skills are crucial for understanding and solving complex technical problems
Precision in handling and analyzing technical data is important
Ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during critical troubleshooting or product launch phases

Preferred

Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and payment terminals, specifically Payter or Nayax, including their payment flows
Experience with complex systems and troubleshooting techniques, demonstrating the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively
