Benefits and Wellness Specialist
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Benefits and Wellness Specialist to lead wellness and employee engagement initiatives for a workforce of approximately 400 employees. The role involves coordinating events, managing vendors, and supporting general HR tasks, with a focus on enhancing employee well-being and maintaining compliance in benefits administration.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for the Wellness Program
Coordinate employee outreach and communication campaigns
Research program enhancements to support employee well‑being
Assist with evaluating program usage and effectiveness
Provide backup support for general benefits administration
Track benefit premiums for employees on leave
Research legal updates related to wellness and retirement programs
Manage enrollments, changes, terminations, loans, distributions, and related compliance tasks
Maintain accurate plan data within HRIS and vendor systems
Assist with annual compliance testing and plan audits
Coordinate with plan advisors and support fiduciary committee activities
Develop employee communication materials and conduct presentations
Maintain accurate employee data for new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes
Create and update standard and ad‑hoc reports
Reconcile payroll and benefits data each pay period
Troubleshoot system issues and suggest enhancements to improve functionality
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
2-5 years of Human Resources experience required
Strong proficiency with email, spreadsheets, HR databases, and reporting tools
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, solve problems, and make recommendations
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy
Preferred
2-5 years of HRIS and benefits experience preferred
2-5 years of payroll experience highly preferred
At least 1 year supporting HR functions outside payroll
