ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT I

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce that effectively serves the public. The Administrative Assistant I will assist in maintaining a statewide 24-hour Long-Term care abuse/neglect hotline and support the Central Complaint Registry Program Administrator by managing complaints and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Assists in maintaining a Statewide 24-hour Long-Term care abuse/neglect hotline
Serves as Staff Assistant to the Central Complaint Registry Program Administrator
Completes Complaint Narrative, outlining each allegation
Conducts ongoing research of State and Federal codes of regulation in order to remain familiar with any changes or updates
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

Required

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in public or business administration
Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency-approved professional management training program

Preferred

Two years' of work experience in Microsoft Word, and spreadsheet applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet)
Two years' of experience preparing complex written and oral reports
Two years' of experience preparing correspondence in professional manner consistent with applicable policies and procedures
Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs
One year experience working on a hot line
