Serve as Responsible Engineering Authorities (REAs) to assess and resolve production non-conformances
Work alongside cross-functional teams across Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing
Ensure technical integrity and continuous improvement in production processes
Qualification
Required
Secret Clearance (or willing to obtain)
U.S. Citizenship required (no dual citizenship allowed)
Experience with Root Cause Analyses
Black Belts/Green Belts
Experience with Machining
Experience with Molding and/or Casting
Experience with adhesives
Composite repair experiences
Any form of NDT experiences
Chemical systems of any kind help to understand many of the elements of this type of product
Production floor experience
Ability to create and present to large teams of engineers using PowerPoint
Mastery of Excel
Basic probability skills to understand product variations
Ability to author reports
Rocket-specific experience is essential – aircraft/automotive/boat not equivalent
Custom manufacturing: no manuals, high-risk, detail-sensitive work
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Six Sigma tools (Green/Black Belt experience or equivalent)
MRB experience (esp. aerospace-related)
Experience in Casting aluminum
Experience in Adhesives
Experience in Composites
Experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Experience in Chemical systems
Experience in Ultrasonic inspection
Understanding & sourcing of tools/systems for novel problems
Strong physics fundamentals
Familiar with production/floor-based engineering
Mastery of Excel – pivot tables, plotting, formulas, statistical analysis
Basic probability/statistics – normal distributions, standard deviation
Technical reporting – able to author clear, concise reports
Comfortable presenting to large technical teams
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for floor interaction
Preferred
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
Background in project, materials, process, or test engineering
Six Sigma Certification
Knowledge of rocket propulsion systems and military hardware production
Familiarity with GD&T, DFMEA/PFMEA, MRL processes, and CAM tools
