Program Management Leader

Responsibilities
Manages department operations and oversee administrative and educational staff. Lead projects to ensure strategic, office, and communications efforts run effectively
Supervises staff, provide feedback, support, and check-in to ensure tools and resources are available for effective performance of duties
Provides day-to-day management of administrative and education staff fulfilling department project and support goals
Guides and assesses employee responsibilities, leads check-in, annual performance, and development conversations, provides training, gives feedback on progress, and sets clear expectations for employee success
Oversees strategic communications efforts in collaboration with the department chair and vice chair of communications and faculty development
Utilizes Salesforce for department newsletters, SiteCore for website updates, and Adobe products for annual reports, composites, etc. Ensures department adherence to communications and marketing processes
Consults with leadership to identify department projects and to support university/school deliverables fulfill strategic objectives. Trains staff to support faculty during annual reviews, promotion and tenure, etc
Collaborates with faculty for analyzing, monitoring, evaluating performance, and providing feedback to staff. Discusses opportunities for increasing knowledge, skills, and abilities for staff effectiveness in roles
Serves as back-up to fulfill deliverables in the absence of administrative or educational staff
Provides day-to-day operational management of support staff
Establishes short-term operational objectives
Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency
Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed
Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff
Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for the performance of the team and/or assigned staff
Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve user support operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff
Keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (preferably in business, management, communications, liberal arts, or related field)
2 years of program management or related experience
Proficient communication skills
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills
Demonstrates a high commitment to quality
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent collaboration and team building skills
Effectively coaches and delivers constructive feedback
Instills commitment to organizational goals
Preferred
3 years of related experience
2 years supervising staff
Experience with designing and delivering written communication to various audiences
Aptitude in technology programs: Microsoft Office Suite (Teams/Sharepoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, Salesforce, Sympa, website management, and ability to learn university systems
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
